General introduction

Mail Admin is the web control panel for this mail server. You can use it to change your own mailbox password. Depending on your account, you can also manage mailboxes and forwarders for your domains, or add and remove whole domains.

Logging in

Log in with your full email address (for example jane@example.com) and your mailbox password, the same one you use in your email program. There is no separate control panel password.

  • If you are logged out after a while, log in again. Sessions last about two hours.
  • If your password is not accepted and you are sure it is correct, your account may be disabled. Contact your domain administrator.
  • Always click Log out when you finish, especially on a shared computer.

Account types

Mail Admin works out what you are allowed to do each time you log in. There are four account types:

Account typeWhat it can do
Single account (individual) Change your own mailbox's password and recovery details, and trace your own email.
Domain administrator Manage mailboxes and forwarders for the domains you administer. A domain can have several administrators; one of them, the primary administrator, also manages the domain's storage allowance.
Reseller Everything an administrator can do, for your own domains and the domains you look after for customers. You can also add and delete domains.
Full server administrator The server owner: everything, for every domain on the server. There is only one.

After you log in, your address and account type are shown at the bottom of the menu on the left.

Which guide should I read?

The Help index lists every guide you can open. Once you log in, you can open the guide for your account type and the guides for the account types below it. For example, an administrator can also read the single account guide.

Keeping your account safe

  • Use a password of at least 8 characters. Longer is better, and it should not be a password you use anywhere else.
  • Nobody from the mail service will ask you for your password by email.
  • Check that the address bar shows this server's address before you type your password.
  • If you send too much in an hour, or too many of the messages you send bounce, the server suspends your account's sending for a while, in case a spammer has your password. You'll see a red warning after you log in. The Single account user guide explains what to do.

Getting help

If you have a single mailbox, contact the administrator of your domain. Administrators should contact their reseller or the server administrator.
